Controversial Zimbabwean socialite and businessman Genius Kadungure also known as Ginimbi has a lot of work ahead of him following his appointment as the Harare International Carnival Ambassador.

Kadungure was selected to be the Harare International Carnival Brand Ambassador by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority with a certificate and an appointment letter. According to ZTA this honorary role is a non-paid position however industry peaks are at the discretion of the board. The appointment is held for a duration of three years, unless renewed or terminated.

Kadungure is expected to assist in the promotion and development of the Harare International Carnival as well as advise the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority on promotional activities and packages to pursue in terms of marketing the Harare International Carnival.

Kadungure’s social standing made him the best choice for the brand ambassador position especially after he proved he was the “King” of the entertainment industry when he brought Davido to Zimbabwe. A concert many Zimbabwean promoters had previously failed to do.

 

ZTA hopes that Kadungure will assist them with transforming the image of the Harare International Carnival. The Harare International Carnival is an annual festival aimed at advancing the arts, culture and heritage of Zimbabwe while simultaneously marketing the countries tourism to  both internationally domestic markets.

Outside the entertainment forum, Kadungure owns Club Sankayi situated in Harare. He is also the founder, Pioneer Gases which has interests in Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

34 year old, Kadungure was born in Domboshava,  in a family of four.
